How to void a check after the check has been issued:
Accounts Payable / Main / Manual Check Entry
Select the appropriate bank code by clicking on the magnifying glass
Enter the check number that needs to be voided in the Check No. field
Sage 100 ERP will ask “Is this a check reversal?”
Click yes.
6. Sage 100 ERP will ask “Do you want to recall invoices paid by this check?”
7. Click yes.
Please note that by reversing this check, all the General Ledger entries and the record of payment of this vendor’s invoice will be reversed.
8. Click Accept
Once the Manual Check Register is updated, you’ll see that the vendor’s invoice will be open and available to select for payment again.
How to void a blank check:
Accounts Payable / Main / Manual Check Entry
Select the appropriate bank code by clicking on the magnifying glass
Enter the check number that needs to be voided in the Check No. field
Enter through the fields without entering any information in them
Sage 100 ERP will ask “Is this a void check?”
Click yes.
After the Manual Check Register has been updated, you will be able to see the check number voided which can be seen in the Accounts Payable Check History Report.
Finally as a Quick Tip to prevent you from getting your Bank Reconciliation and General Ledgers out of sync with each other, be sure to double check your date before you update the Manual Check Register to ensure your General Ledgers are posting in the same month. I hope the tips I’ve outlined are useful and provide you a streamlined approach to voiding checks in Sage 100 ERP.
